CERTIFIED BRAINSPOTTING THERAPIST

EMDR THERAPIST

WOMEN'S HEALTH SPECIALIST

Hi I'm Katie,

As a compassionate therapist, I specialize in providing support and healing for women who have experienced birth trauma, miscarriage, infertility, postpartum depression/anxiety, and perinatal mental health challenges, as well as those who are considering pregnancy or are mothers of young children.

Motherhood is a unique journey, and amidst the joy and love, it can also bring forth complex emotions and unaddressed trauma. I understand that the constant stream of societal expectations and pressures can create feelings of isolation, guilt, and the loss of one's true self. Together, we will challenge these external influences and explore the deep-rooted issues that may be affecting your well-being.

My approach is grounded in non-judgment and a focus on the mind-body connection. I believe in the power of somatic therapy to help you reconnect with your body, release stored trauma, and foster profound healing.

Additionally, I utilize somatic-based techniques such as Brainspotting and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to address childhood trauma, relational trauma, and attachment wounds, providing you with a safe space to work through triggers, intrusive thoughts, and constant worry.

Each individual's journey is unique, and I am committed to tailoring the therapeutic process to your specific needs. Together, we will navigate your path towards wholeness, empowerment, and self-discovery. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where you can freely express yourself, find solace, and ultimately embrace a renewed sense of self.

If you are ready to embark on this transformative journey, I invite you to take the first step towards healing. Together, let's work towards unlocking your inner strength and reclaiming your true identity beyond the challenges of motherhood. You deserve to thrive, and I am here to support you every step of the way. Let's embark on this journey of healing and growth together!

When I'm not connecting with clients, you can find me spending quality time with my family around DFW. My favorite pastimes include caring for my variety of houseplants, practicing calligraphy, and cooking and baking for loved ones. I usually recharge by reading a good story, practicing yoga, or having a long conversation with a friend.

Professional Background

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received my MSW from UTA. I also have my BA in Political Science from UTA. My past experiences include working as a Dual Language teacher, a bilingual counselor for a domestic violence shelter, and an adolescent group therapist at an outpatient center. Most recently, I work with students, families, and teachers as a licensed mental health counselor at a K-10 charter school. I am certified in Brainspotting and trained in perinatal mental health psychotherapy, EMDR, TF-CBT, and Safe and Sound Protocol.
